New Delhi: Ghulam Nabi Azad’s letter is verifiably off base and its timing is horrendous, Congress said because of the scorching assault on Rahul Gandhi by the 73-year-old previous Congress veteran. While recognizing Mr Azad’s commitments to the party, Congress spokespersons said it was “sad” that the senior chief had surrendered in such design when the party is preparing for gigantic cross country assembly against the decision BJP.

We have perused the letter of veteran Congress pioneer Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad that has been delivered to the media. It is most lamentable that this has occurred when Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi and the whole party association is engaged with battling the BJP on open issues of mehangai (cost rise), berozgaari (joblessness) and polarization and when last arrangements are being made for the Mehangai standard Hallo Bol rally in New Delhi on Sept fourth and for send off of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari on Sept seventh,” the party said.

Items in the letter isn’t verifiable, timing is horrendous, he said.

Mr Azad, Azad, who was important for the G-23 nonconformist gathering requiring an adjustment of party initiative and association, quit the party today tearing into Rahul Gandhi for “whimsical way of behaving”, “glaring youthfulness” and for letting a “cadre of unpracticed puppets” run the party.

Ghulam Nabi Azad held nothing back in his dangerous letter saying Sonia Gandhi is “only an ostensible nonentity” while significant choices are taken by “Rahul Gandhi or rather more terrible his safety officers and PAs (individual colleagues)”.
