New Delhi: As India on Tuesday honored 23 years of its triumph over Pakistan in the Kargil War, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh honored fighters who lost their lives in the 1999 Kargil War and laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in Delhi.
Every year, Kargil Vijay Diwas is commended on July 26 to respect the courage and penance of the troopers who set out their lives in the line of obligation during the Kargil War.

The day denotes the triumph of Indian troopers in recovering the mountain levels that were involved by the Pakistani Army on July 26, 1999, known as the Kargil War.
The Kargil War was battled between May to July, 1999, against Pakistan gatecrashers, who in the winters of 1998 involved strengthened safeguards neglecting the NH 1A in Kargil’s Dras and Batalik Sectors of Ladakh district with a point of overwhelming all military and common development on the parkway.
Prior, President Droupadi Murmu gave recognition to the fearless fighters on the Kargil Vijay Diwas and in a tweet said, “Kargil Vijay Diwas is an image of uncommon courage, boldness and assurance of our military. I bow to every one of the fearless warriors who set out their lives to safeguard Mother India. Every one of the kinsmen will continuously be obligated to them and their relatives. Jai Hind!”.
